Membership of HNE Health Libraries entitles users to access electronic journals, books and databases and to borrow from all library branches - located at Calvary Mater Hospital and Tamworth Hospital, with a library office in The HILL (JHH). Members of University of Newcastle Library are also entitled to borrow from the print collections.
A maximum of six items may be borrowed from HNE Health Libraries. The loan period is four weeks.
Book loans may be extended twice – if not requested by other users. Loan laptops are available for in library use only (JHH and Tamworth Hospital).
Renewals may be requested by phone, in person, or via the library website, but must be requested before or on the due date.
OVERDUE MATERIAL CANNOT BE RENEWED.
HNE Health Libraries reserve the right to recall material at any time. The borrower must return material on request.
Fines apply for overdue material. Books will occur a fine of $2.00 per item for the first day overdue, then $0.50c per item per day thereafter. Please be aware that fines accumulate rapidly – 6 books overdue for 1 week will accrue $30.00 in fines
Borrowing privileges will be suspended if fines reach $15.00
Material should be returned in reasonable condition. Users will be charged for material that is lost, returned in a damaged condition or not returned when requested. Any reimbursement charge will include the cost of replacement of the item/s and a processing fee.
Failure to return items in good condition or within an appropriate time-frame may result in suspension or withdrawal of borrowing privileges.
